Hi, I’m Alasdair McGill and I left school at 18 and embarked on a career in accountancy with Ernst & Young (now EY). As a natural communicator, I rapidly climbed the ladder before leaving in 1993 to join a client.
That’s when my entrepreneurial journey began. Since then I’ve worked in large & small organisations in a variety of sectors and I’ve learned a huge amount along the way.
The common theme has been a passion for people and I’ve built these businesses around understanding and then solving the needs and problems of customers. It’s been a collaborative, design-led, journey.
Having also spent time as Head of Entrepreneurship at the University of Dundee, I have a unique perspective and love sharing my experiences with audiences around the UK. I’m passionate about people, and frustrated by the way many organisations behave today. They don’t care about their staff or customers. Profit has become their only measure of success. They have no soul. We’ve forgotten about compassion, about empathy, about treating people well.
When we actually do all of these things in our organisations, when we know Why we do what we do and share that, then amazing things start to happen.
As an entrepreneur, designer and educator, I help organisations do that. Working together, we create better organisations.
